Some of you may know that I attended Auburn University (in my home state of Alabama) and graduated with degrees (BS and MS) in biological sciences prior to starting my career and subsequently retiring. Each year, the Colleges of the University (Agriculture, Architecture, Business, Engineering, Forestry, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science and Mathematics, Veterinary Medicine etc. ) honor an outstanding alum at a ceremony on campus. This year I will be honored by the College of Science and Mathematics during Black Alumni Weekend as their Outstanding Alum at a dinner the evening of September 27th at the Dixon Conference Center on Campus at Auburn.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the fact that the presenter of the award was Regenia Sanders – President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, VP of Ernst and Young and cousin of Nancy Sanders who was home winning the RCCWA Invitational)… how small our world is!!!
Because of this event, I missed the North South Shootout (congratulations to our North Sistas) and the Richmond Country Club Women’s Invitational (congratulations to Gwen Brown, Laura Johnson, Marie Poole, and Nancy Sanders for representing and taking 2nd place in this event) .We were all winners on this weekend!
